The fight to legalize marijuana has been ongoing for decades, and several states in the United States have legalized it. Canada, our neighbors to the north, have been in the same boat as to whether to legalize it on a country-wide basis. Currently, the federal government appears to be leaving it up to each province to make their own decisions.

The Fight for Medical Marijuana

The medical community finally admitted that medical cannabis is helpful to many with chronic pain and especially to those undergoing cancer treatment. Many entrepreneurs have sought to open marijuana stores, such as the Tamarack Dispensaries in British Columbia, Canada. Marijuana has taken many forms beyond the simple rolling and smoking. People are now able to obtain marijuana edible online, as well as oils and ointments, tea, and solutions for vaping.

Ingesting Rather than Inhaling

Many people are simply against smoking, no matter whether it’s tobacco or marijuana. Along with the distinctive odor that lingers, it can also cause a sore throat. It’s probably true that smoking marijuana may have some of the same side effects as smoking tobacco. After all, it is still breathing smoke into your lungs. To avoid that, many prefer to eat their cannabis and enjoy a marijuana-infused brownie or two.

Marijuana Edibles

Obtaining marijuana edibles online is possible, but one must be careful. Most online sites will have a questionnaire to fill out, and there are sometimes fees to join certain sites. Some sites may even require that you have a doctor’s prescription in order to purchase marijuana for medical purposes as many locations are allowed only to sell for that purpose and not for recreational use.

Eating Rather than Smoking Provides Better Benefits

A lot of research has gone into the effects of marijuana, and most recently it has been found that eating or drinking it (as a tea) has a longer lasting, more wide spread effect on the body than smoking does. While the high isn’t as immediate as with smoking, the effects last longer and are more beneficial to those who need marijuana for pain relief.
