A hopper is necessary to spread rock salt or ice melt. You could start with one of the more inexpensive hoppers and work your way up as your business progresses.
4. Rock Salt or Ice Melt
There is no point in getting a hopper if you aren’t going to get stuff to go in it. Both do the same job so it’s a matter of which one you prefer to use.
5. Shovels
Your truck will do most of the heavy lifting, but at some point, you’ll probably have to shovel by hand. Keep an array of shovels handy for this purpose.
