2019 Solar Eclipse: How to Plan for a Great Event

by | Jan 29, 2019 | Eclipses

Lunar and solar eclipses are fascinating to watch. However, we get only a few chances to see them. For those living in South America, the next opportunity comes on July 2nd this year.

A solar eclipse is caused when the moon comes between Earth and the sun. A total eclipse will see the moon cover the sun completely. It means those in the affected area will see the skies darken considerably when totality occurs. If you wish to prepare for the 2019 solar eclipse, here is how to do it.

Check the Maps

The so-called path of totality marks out the area in which you must be situated to view the 2019 solar eclipse. Certain portions of Chile and Argentina will be within that path. If you are planning to visit, make sure you choose your location to stay in wisely. Remember, lots of other people will be visiting to make the most of this event too.

Research the Best Photography Techniques

You will always need to wear protective solar glasses if you wish to view the eclipse. However, you can still take photographs of the occasion. A DSLR camera is ideal, but any camera should be good enough to capture some photographs.

Working out how to adjust the settings on your camera prior to the 2019 solar eclipse is vital if you wish to take the best photographs of it. Remember, it does not last long, and you will not get another chance to take more photos.
