A forestry mower is an all-encompassing, one-man machine used to clear large amounts of brush, vegetation, and other debris for various industries and applications. These mowers work by gripping the feed material with strong mower teeth and the shred it down into small particles that are then sprayed directly back into the soil as the machine clears the area. These machines are easy to operate and also save on labor costs since they are a single-operator machine.

Mower Uses
Mowers made for the forestry industry can be applied to various applications for mulching different types of vegetation. Forestry mulchers can be used for any task from clearing out light brush to mulching full size trees. They are commonly used to pioneer forested land due to their ability to knock down whole trees and thick brush.

These types of mowers are also used in conservation efforts for wetlands and other habitats. For conservation, they are used to remove underbrush and invasive species. This helps to renew the grasses and food sources that are used by the animals for shelter and breeding. Also, forestry mowers mulch the end product back into the ground which helps to return moisture to the soil. This added moisture can help dampen or prevent forest fires.

Types of Mowers Commonly Used
Types of forestry mower machines include drum mowers which have a rapidly rotating bar with sharpened mulcher teeth that grind the vegetation. One type of drum mower is a timed-belt drive mower which is used to achieve a finely mulched vegetation that is discharged directly into the ground. This mower is easy to operate with only 3 hydraulic lines and 2 additional lines for the optional rotator. It can also be attached to a boom with a boom adapter that includes two pins and fits easily to any carrier or can be used for quick attach.

Another type of wear- resistant drum mower is a direct-drive mower that is also used to mulch various types of vegetation. With a sturdy frame design, this type of mower is capable of handling a variety of jobs and is able to fit on all 20t+ feller-bunchers or excavators. It also has various cutting tools, like the timed-belt drive mower, to fit a variety of applications, including reversible, beaver, and concave or carbide teeth.
