You want to sell, so what’s holding you back? Selling is tough. It takes more than a nice suit and a charming smile. It is all about knowing your product, but more so knowing your client. You have to take chances and face each client without fear. It’s time to sit down at the table and lean in and face your prospects head on.

Seek Challenges
Leaning in is about seeking challenges. And seeking challenges in sales goes beyond waiting for leads to come your way. You have to be constantly thinking and questioning where you can find success. If you do not have the support you need, find it. Use your research skills and seek opportunity because it is guaranteed opportunity is not looking for you.

Take Risks
The real risk in sales is rejection. And if you can’t live with rejection then you shouldn’t be in sales. You have to be willing to think outside the box and pursue your dreams to bag the elephant. It is all about being unstoppable and fearless and using rejection to build strength, learn and move on to the next risk and challenge.

Pursue Your Goals
Giving up is the easiest thing you will ever do. Giving up is not an option in sales. Giving up means you are dead in the water and you might as well start working on your resume. Pursue your goals relentlessly and be focused not only on your goals but the needs of your clients. Find what sets your product apart from the competition and then figure out why that will be the saving grace to solve your clients’ problems. It is all about problem solving and hurdle jumping to get to your target and come out ahead.

Divide and Conquer
You have to be determined to make the sale, but understand you will not always succeed. Take into consideration how many sales you can expect to make and divide that by the amount of time you work each day. Divide that by how much you earn for each sale. That will show you how much money you are earning with your efforts. Don’t think of non-sales as down time without pay. Think of it as the one of the necessary steps to conquer the next big sale.
