It was when 700 Jewish rebels resisted German police and troops who entered the largest Jewish ghetto in German-occupied Europe to evict Jewish inhabitants. This Jewish revolt was the first major urban protest against Hitler’s Nazi Germany. It was eliminated four weeks later.
