In a few words, By Bosa can be considered a flagship project from Bosa Development By Bosa offers a great location coupled with luxury and quality sitting above what is destined to become a major 16,000 square foot retail and cultural hub. When launching the By Bosa can be considered a flagship project from Bosa Development Tower project Nat Bosa (the founder of Bosa Development) expressed the desire to provide San Diego with the very best buildings on the US West Coast. Many feel that he is achieving his aim.
Starting With The Architecture
Architect Jamie von Klemperer used a curved tower design to reflect the influence of the ocean on San Diego’s downtown area. The firm of Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) used this concept to transform old parking lots into a double-nested curve with rolling facade and scrolling base, which aims to emulate the sea and the fluid forms of its horizon. Their design thinking concentrated on the external view that the completed tower would add to the downtown San Diego skyline.
Not That The Inside Was Ignored
The open spaces at ground level also reflect to ocean wave image of the tower itself. Since the lower floor(s) will be commercial or cultural in usage, the internal design of these will depend much upon who takes up which space. However, for the residential bulk of the building, the world renowned hospitality design firm of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) worked with KPF to ensure that the internals reflected the ocean concept of the externals.
The HBA design work starts at the residents’ entrance lobby then it flows up the elevators and into each floor’s public corridor before forming the basic layout of each apartment. Accent furniture, fittings and even door pulls and handles reflect the wave like curvature of the building. This curvature also enhances each apartment’s view of the surrounding coast line, city and Pacific Ocean.
An Air Of Understated Luxury
Only top quality materials, fixtures and fittings are being used throughout – not only inside individual apartments themselves but also in common areas and amenities. There will also be other facilities not commonly found in residential blocks. A chef concierge service will provide residents with (amongst other things) automobile hire, private boat share as well as regular porter service.
With its 41 floors, 215 residential units and parking basements for 460 vehicles, Pacific Gate By Bosa can be considered a flagship project from Bosa Development. Completion is expected for the winter of 2017.
